Curiculum Vitae

I am an attorney-at-law registered with both the Czech Bar Association and the Slovak Bar Association. I graduated from the Law Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic) the Faculty of Business and Management of the Technical University in Brno (Czech Republic) and Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom). During my studies at the Law Faculty I participated in the Erasmus exchange student programme at the Law Faculty of Lund University in Sweden.

After my graduation, I started to work at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Tax and Legal Department. In PwC, I gained experience mainly in tax litigation and tax structuring. Next, I was employed at KPMG as a tax litigation specialist. Then I worked in the law offices of Allen & Overy and Peterka & Partners as an attorney-at-law. In 2012, I established my own law office. I still cooperate with the CEE law firm Peterka & Partners, but just externally as Of Counsel.

I specialize mainly in tax law, in which I have extensive knowledge and experience, as well as business, labour and criminal law.

I am a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA)and I was appointed the national reporter of the Czech branch of IFA in the following years on the following topics:

2013: The taxation of foreign passive income for groups of companies

2014: The qualification of taxable entities and treaty protection

2015: The practical protection of taxpayers’ fundamental rights.

During the preparation of the report for the last topic, some of the national reporters established the Observatory on the Protection of Taxpayers’ Rights. The Alliance is a neutral, non-judgemental platform for monitoring developments concerning the effective protection of taxpayers’ fundamental rights throughout the world. I am a member of this Alliance.

I have also written many professional articles. In addition, I am the author of the book: International Tax Relationships (in Czech, 2017, 3rd edition, Wolters Kluwer). Furthermore, I am also co-author of the book: The Taxation of Individuals and Legal Entities (in Czech, 2019, 4th edition, Wolters Kluwer).

Additionally, I give lectures at universities and prepare tailor-made seminars for companies and entrepreneurs.
